He’s been in the building game all his life and is a plasterer to trade, but Neil now loves getting outdoors in the countryside with his daughter and their dog. Neil is our one-stop Operations guru. He has a practical solution to every issue and is rarely happier than when he’s on top of a roof!
After making the move from city life to country and a spot of home renovation, Abbie got stuck into her role as our Marketing Manager. With a background in Arts Marketing and a love of all things crafty, Abbie has developed a keen eye for which router packaging would make a good arts and crafts activity. Muddy kids and husband in tow, you will often spot her out and about East Lothian of a weekend. With a passion for both marketing and people, Abbie is the perfect person to head up our marketing team.
A keen traveller and former banker, Gina joins Lothian Broadband with a wealth of experience in developing and implementing customer service processes and is whipping our growing team into shape. Having completed the Inca Trail, Hadrian’s Wall, and the West Highland Way, Gina now spends most of her time managing daily relationship between a 3 year old and kitten!
Patrick holds the role of Chairperson within a growing Lothian Broadband team. With an impressive travel resume and the ability to fluently speak French and Chinese, it’s no surprise Patrick has the knowledge and skills to see a small business like Lothian Broadband grow to its full potential. Alongside 3 dogs, guinea fowl, quails and a selection of unorthodox ducks, Patrick is a vibrant and forward-thinking member of the community and is entirely vital to the team.
Ellie is a whiz. One of those people who just gets stuff done. Having graduated from St Andrews, she is now an invaluable member of the Finance Team; always on hand to help out. With an enthusiasm for all things art, Ellie loves a gallery visit and can't wait to visit the Infinity Rooms at Tate Modern.
Having just finished a degree in theatre and film, Heather came to Lothian Broadband with a passion for Marketing. Her prowess in communication and public speaking are invaluable and her background in sales makes her perfect for the job. As she previously sold wedding bands, selling broad-band came as no hurdle! Back at home, she can be found walking her dog in the countryside, or keenly taking photos and videos.
Realising her true calling mid-career, our graphic designer Sally is a creative mastermind. From designing new websites to adding her artistic touch to flyers, Sally is as in demand as it gets. Originating from the of Isle of Mull, Humbie is ‘city’ life in comparison. Sally ensures the essential cherry is on the top of every aspect of Lothian Broadband's Marketing cake.
As a Sales Executive, having a personal connection with your colleagues is extremely important, so Kelly is not afraid to be cheeky at times! Having worked in Australia, Belfast and France in sales, Kelly has unparalleled knowledge and certainly knows what she’s doing. As well as her job, she has two kids to keep up with, but miraculously she still has time to enjoy many social events, which she also arranges for her fellow co-workers at Lothian Broadband.
Jamie, our operations expert, is often found half way up a ladder sporting a pair of shorts, whatever the weather. He doesn’t hold back on his humour and when he's not cracking 'hilarious' jokes, he’s participating in a multitude of activities from cubs to rugby. A family man with a wonderfully varied employment history, Jamie is the friendly face of Lothian Broadband ensuring all customers are delighted with their new broadband. He's the man for the job, regardless of what the job might be!
After studying Economics and Accountancy at Edinburgh Uni, Ian did most of his accountancy training with Scott-Moncrieff. The world of beer then beckoned and Ian helped a hospitality group launch their own brewery! Outside of work you will find Ian playing football, running or on the golf course.
A part-time wrestler with great taste in whisky; our apprentice Michael is a valued member of the team and the calm voice at the end of the phone with any issues.
Originally from New Zealand, our Managing Director has been involved with Lothian Broadband from the beginning. A team player, he picks up the tab for staff bacon rolls (every Friday at 10am if anyone else is interested). Nic is no stranger to the countryside and alongside 2 kids and Labrador, Bramble, he keeps a busy family routine. He is passionate about going the extra mile for Lothian Broadband customers and his commitment to ensuring those in rural areas receive city broadband speeds is commendable.
Norrie is usually seen running silly distances, usually to burn off the previously mentioned Friday morning bacon roll, around East Lothian accompanied by tech dog, Digby. The rest of us should take note. A keen dancer, community enthusiast and East Linton man, Norrie brings a wealth of experience to the table when it comes to seeing the network architecture through to its absolute potential.
Jen has joined the Lothian Broadband team with a wealth of strategic and operational experience, both on the West Coast and in the City. Jen is central to supporting the company’s continued growth and expansion. With her exceptional ability to efficiently get to the root of a problem and endless practical positivity, Jen keeps the team moving in the right direction.
David Studied Telecommunications in Prague and with previous experience as a Wireless Engineer and an apprenticeship in Business Improvement Techniques, he is a skilled addition to the Lothian Team. David balances his technical knowledge with his love of traveling, music and games.
Beatrice has made East Lothian her home having previously studied and worked in Venice in Tourism and The Arts. With a love of music, movies, a good BBQ and the elusive Scottish sunny day, Beatrice has the attention to detail and positivity to keep the Lothian Broadband cogs turning efficiently.
With a Fine Art Degree, a Masters in Computer Animation and numerous languages up his sleeve, Romain is one of our most diversely skilled team-members. Working with Medecins Sans Frontières in conflict situations and as a 3D digital modeller for film and TV, his travels have taken him around the globe. Romain’s energy and enthusiasm bring an endless positivity to the team and when en route to various swimming pools of the area with his girls, you will see him practising his singing and maybe sneaking in a little time to fly a stunt kite!
With such a knowledgeable background in Politics, David’s input in the company is vital. Not a policy passes unnoticed and not a report goes unread when it’s on David’s watch. Going between school and Lothian Broadband, David switches the classroom whiteboard for conferences and keeps the team educated and clued-up!
Returning to the business after a few years, Nicola has taken a role within our customer service team. Now pursuing further education – it seemed life without Lothian was too difficult to go without! Currently living in Edinburgh and enjoying all that city life brings; she also enjoys getting back out to her family home in the borders for some good county air from time to time. She assists the rest of the customer service team with a variety of tasks as well as working closely alongside other members of staff to help out where she can. Having worked in the property sector for the last year she is now able to offer further experience to contribute to Lothian.
Having worked for 24 years in the cable telecolms industry in a variety of roles, Gareth brings a wealth of valuable experience to the role of Director of Engineering at Lothian Broadband. Gareth looks after teams of technicians and engineers who maintain, design ,upgrade and monitor both the Fixed Wireless and Pure Fibre networks. Gareth ensures a high standard of service to our increasing customer base. As if that isn't enough to keep a person busy, Gareth enjoys exploring Scotland with family, walking in the wonderful Highlands and Islands, as well as getting outdoors closer to home.
